Looking Great in 2008...

Hello Again...

The Holidays are wonderful, but it's also nice to have some good old-fashioned down time after all of the craziness! I, for one, am looking forward to reading a few good books, accomplishing some tasks around the house and working on my New Year's Resolutions. Like many others, one of my resolutions is to lose weight. If I actually lost all of the weight that I have resolved to lose over the years, I would weigh about 5 pounds...haha! So, what's going to change this year? How am I actually going to lose those 10 pounds? Well, that's where this discussion begins. I thought it would be great to share ideas of how to lose weight. What has worked for you? What are you going to try in 2008? What is an effective, yet manageable exercise program? Which diets have worked well for you? My plan is to start with healthier eating. I am going to try to cut out the white breads. Believe me, this will be no easy task, as I am a big fan of all things bread-related. As for exercise, I'm going to try to work out at least 3 times per week. Oh no... i guess it's time for the weigh in...yikes.....

Hope to hear input from all of my fellow dieters....

Hi Hip Moms! I, too, constantly fight the scale as well as a passionate love of all things bread and all things sweet. I know from experience, that the best way for me to fight my sugar cravings is to cut back slowly and consistently. When I try to stop sweets/bread cold turkey, I'm a hideous witch. But, when I cut back slowly day by day, I really see a difference in my cravings and how my pants fit! So, my suggestion is to know that it takes time and give your blood sugar level time to adjust slowly.

That is a great suggestion! If we attempt to make too many changes at once, we are bound to fail.
